Who is Brittany Heath?
I am a Canadian mother of two incredible girls who fill my days with wonder, laughter, and the occasional chaos that makes life interesting. I’m married to an American, and together, we navigate the complexities of family, culture, and everything in between.
Eleven years ago, I was diagnosed with ALS, a turning point that reshaped my world. Before then, my hands danced across piano keys and transformed hair into art. Music and creativity were my language. While those abilities have changed, my passions have only evolved. Now, I experience the joy of cooking vicariously through others, finding satisfaction in every dish made with love. Writing has become my outlet, a place where my thoughts and experiences take shape. I even penned a book about my journey with Mormonism and disability, a story of resilience, identity, and self-discovery.
I am an introvert, but my mind is never quiet. I am always learning, always thinking. Politics and human rights ignite a fire in me—I speak up, I push back, and I believe in the power of words to create change. Fashion and decorating are my creative escapes, ways to express who I am when words aren’t enough. And of course, there’s always room for a great video game to transport me somewhere new.
At home, I share my life with a loyal dog and a thriving fish tank, tiny reminders that even in stillness, there is movement and life. My world may look different than it once did, but it is full, vibrant, and deeply mine.
